SHOP LOCAL holiday gift guide

LOCAL Holiday Gift Guide

All I want for Christmas is…

for you to shop local!

Seriously.

So I’m going to help you do that with this list.

I’ve broken it down by type of person and given you three ideas for each! Hopefully this inspires some local gift-giving, if it does please tag me & the business you bought from; I’d love to see what you find and social media sharing also majorly helps small businesses.

Everything is linked!

New Homeowners

-Life is Hard, Cooking Isn’t by Samantha Santti, to make it a larger gift include the pantry items for one recipe (anything that doesn’t need to be refrigerated) or a cute holiday themed spatula or kitchen towel!

-A statement piece from Helm Collective, Nicola stocks a great variety so you don’t have to know their exact interior design plans, prints & knick knacks always make a great fit!

-A print from a local artist, style & preference of your giftee will determine this one so I’ll give you a couple of options - Svona studio, Oh So Graceful, Paper Cutz Vintage

Your Favorite Couple

-A gift card for the best pizza in cle, Il Rione and some dessert, Mitchell’s Chocolates is a delicious end to the evening

-a subscription to Cleveland Magazine for a whole year of local goodness

-Matching Cle Tees, style & preference play a big role but here are some good options

Your Stylish friend

-Lettie Briggs scarf, a great addition would be a gift card to Wild Cactus

-Oceanne jewelry, they have something gorgeous for any budget! Every piece I add to my collection it becomes a new staple.

-anything stocked at Room Service (that place is so dreamy) or a gift card if they're so stylish that it's intimidating to try & pick the perfect thing.

The retro loving whiskey drinker

-are you gonna make me say it? A Short Guide to Cheap Whiskey by Shelby Costo (me!), pair with whatever size bottle fits your budget, airplane, small, or regular (everything in the book is under $35)

-Boundary & Thorn print, Lucy does a whole cocktail collection!

-Vintage barware from Flower Child, I could fill a whole bookcase with shaker & glasses sets

Coffee obsessed

-brewing apparatus from Rising Star, they stock a lot of cool stuff your coffee lover probably doesn’t have in their collection yet!

-a local roast, check out Odd Dog Coffee, they do a classic blend & spice infused!

-gift card to a local coffee shop with an Oh So Graceful tumbler or Tiny Cloud ceramic mug

That elusive man in your life who just doesn’t seem to need a damn thing

-Rock & Roll Hall of Fame tickets

-an OH or CLE hat, Cuyahoga Collective has a great selection & you can pair it with one of their stickers!

-an accessory to their favorite sport (gloves for snowboarders, sunglasses etc) from Geigers, or a gift card if you’re not quite sure what he needs (honestly who ever knows)

Art Fiend (trying to think outside the obvious, a print from a local artist, but that is also a great option!)

-a glass blowing class at Ohio City Glass

-wood working class at Polis Woodworking (the hand tooled sushi set looks like a great one)

Your Brother

-a 6 pack of OH locals, available at any beverage store. Even if your brother is still sipping PBRs, this is the perfect chance to introduce him to some new brews

-an escape room experience, with you or his friends! There are a lot of ones in the area, I’ll link a couple here

- a gift card for a restaurant outside his comfort zone, something he wouldn’t normally try! Maybe it’s the know-it-all older sister in me but I love doing stuff like that (9/10 he loves wherever I send him)

Tech Junkies

-a book on tech stuff from a local bookstore like The Bookshop in Lakewood

-CompSource seems to be Cleveland’s only local tech/electronic store (it’s online only) but they have it all! If you don’t know exactly what your tech lover needs, go virtual shopping with them!

-a local boutique or vintage carrier could have some great stuff to organize or accessorize the tech, like a desk or carriers/storage

Plant Parent

-a macrame carrier for a car plant by Miss Wanderer, because why confine the obsession to the house?

-a new potted friend or if you're not a plant person and have no idea what they want a gift card to Urban Planting

-a class at Brick ceramics to make your own pot!

The workaholic

-gift card for acupuncture or cupping at Acupuncture First

-a relaxing facial at Stella & Shay (highly recommend Vanessa!)

-a gift card for wine to unwind at Flight Cleveland

Your furry friend (or furry friend loving friend) a great addition to any of these would be fresh made dog treats from Three Dogs Bakery!

-a gift card to Pet-Tique on Clifton

-a membership to the African Safari park, a must do for all animal lovers & the membership gets you discounts to zoos across the country.

-gift card to Terrestrial Brewery which is pup friendly!

I hope you found what you’re looking for in this guide & it got you to think outside the typical gift box! Our local hustlers & makers really depend on this time of year and your purchase can help make it magical for them. A lot of these are available online but I recommend you go to the actual location when possible & meet the maker. A great addition to any gift on here is a little note about the establishment & the CLE hero behind it.

Cheers & THANK YOU for shopping local.
