These are 5 podcasts that I just can’t live without and when I sat down to write a post recommending them to you I realized they actually say a lot about who I am and what I value. I’ve become a podcast junkie over the past year after starting a job where I work alone in a quiet kitchen for the first few hours of every day. Now I love music & a fairly wide variety of it (that’s a whole other blog post coming your way soon) but after about 2 months I could feel myself getting bored with music so I knew I had to find something else to save my favorite playlists from monotony.
Yoga Girl, Conversations From the Heart | This was the first & only podcast I listened to for about a year, before starting this new day job. Every friday, when I did my Sweet Costo baking, a new episode was released and I felt like I was having coffee with a wise, if slightly woo woo, friend. I still look forward to the weekly discussions centered around Rachel’s life & her dissection of the emotional aspect of different situations. She’s also very calming and even in the midst of chaotic baking and event prep I find myself breathing a little deeper while I listen.
The Best Life Podcast | Jill Coleman & Danny J chat everything fitness, business, mindset and relationship on their podcast and the fact that they’re real life besties is my favorite part of the show, the chemistry really makes it. The Danny J to my Jill Coleman (my real life bestie) introduced the show to me and I’ve been hooked ever since. If you’re looking for some unbiased real talk about what it takes to create a life that reflects what you truly want and not what you “should” want then download this gem ASAP.
The Goal Digger Podcast | I was pretty late to the game on this one but now that I’ve discovered it I’m binging my way through. I feel so inspired when listening to this pod filled with tangible steps to improve your business from someone who has put in the WORK (host Jenna Kutcher who I’m sure you’re already following on Instagram but if not don’t delay!). There’s a how-to style episode on almost everything small business and social media related and a fount of interviews with other people who have built something aspirational.
Creative Pep talk | Ugh where to begin with this one...it affirms & offers advice for everything a creative person has ever felt, thought, or doubted in a beautifully quirky show. From social media to knowing your worth and building your audience, host Andy J Pizza makes the business side of anything artistic approachable while simultaneously helping you harness that creativity and get your shit together so you can make a living doing what you love. So many a-ha moments and “wow I’m not the only one” thoughts as I work my way through the catalogue of episodes.
How I Built This with Guy Ranz | As a girl with big dreams and what feels like a good brand & business foundation going at the moment I am OBSESSED with this podcast. Listening to legends like Jeni Britton Bauer and Kendra Scott talk about their beginnings, the struggles, and how it all ended up nothing like they thought but also so much better than they could’ve imagined lights my fucking fire. Every guest ends up being fascinating to me, even ones whose business I couldn’t care less about. My favorite part is that every one of those current moguls were called crazy at one point but their instinct was so intense that had to listen to it. Don’t we all want to believe our calling will turn us out on top?
I sincerely hope you check out all (or at least one) of these, as they have added great value to my life. Let me know which one you listened to on instagram, and what you thought! As you can tell from the list, I love talking business, emotions, and creativity.
X
