The Quick & Dirty Guide to Gettin' Nashty

Nashville’s reputation for country music & bridal parties was genuinely an after thought when planning this trip. My friend & I, both historically major planners, decided not to look much up beforehand and see where Nashville wanted to take us.

The city (and instagram if we’re being honest) guided us to all the best spots. After one lack luster lunch on Broadway we avoided the main drag knowing the best food & drinks were off center (a commonality for every city in my opinion).

We explored all of the boutique hotels, our favorites being DREAM & Noelle, both filled with gorgeous cocktails, coffee, and even a speakeasy. We also stopped into Skulls Rainbow room for a burlesque show, iconic around the city. The drinks & food were amazing but I highly recommend booking a table ahead of time, I wouldn’t say the show was worth standing at the bar for two hours (if you get there before 9 you can avoid the cover).

We also stumbled upon a new to Nashville venture, the Liquor Lab, where for $60 one gets to learn how to make 4 cocktails while snacking on tacos & a cheeseboard (the deal of the trip for sure). Everyone working there was passionate & knowledgable and they went the extra mile with insta worthy photo stations.

We also dined at Sea Salt which made for the perfect break from the chaos on the streets. The restaurant was decorated with actual sea salt tiles (and as self-proclaimed Queen of Salt I would’ve gladly moved in) and even had a sea salt scrub in the bathroom. Union Teller bar & coffee shop was art deco heaven, serving up hot malty bagels and strong coffee. Imagine if Einstein bros was opened by hipsters.

Liberty Commons was the most beautiful place by far though, it felt like walking into Paris. The food was thoughtful and the cocktails were fresh, I got a frozen gin & tonic that ruined all slushies for me.

The Speakeasy

The best part of the trip though was finding the only rooftop pool in Nashville that didn’t require a hotel reservation for entry. Holston House is home to Tenn on Top where there’s a pool and bar with rotating frozen drinks and a gorgeous view. We spent the whole afternoon there but easily could’ve stayed the rest of our trip. It was well worth the 2 mile walk from our hotel.

All in all the trip was delicious & beautiful and we’re already planning our return.

Feel free to reach out for more specific recs if you’re heading there!
